Structuring Implementation Engagements for Success

A project plan that manages expectations and acknowledges and mitigates risk factors is the starting point for any alternative asset implementation project.  Our project structure extends to a careful and methodical approach of communication including weekly work plans and status reports.  We then focus on bridging your electronic data into our system, with controls and balances to ensure that the data ties out to source.  Issues such as data scrubbing and adjustments are also handled with automation before upload to save time and to provide a clean audit trail.  At that point, we work with you to train and facilitate by using our technology as the system goes live.

The Art and Science of Alternative Asset Data Electronic Bridging

AnalytX utilizes an efficient, proven methodology for bridging your current data into the ObjectiveAssets (OA) database.  The mandate for the implementation process is to automate the upload of all data that is available electronically.  Our process leverages a clean process workflow:

  1. Bridge electronic source spreadsheets --> Target Excel Templates.
  2. Scrub Target Excel Templates, if required.
  3. Sign off on Template data.
  4. Upload Target Excel Spreadsheets --> SQL Server Database.
  5. Verify & sign off on upload.
  6. Upload in-process periods and transactions.
  7. Go live.

Training

AnalytX provides a global training program, offering a comprehensive range of topics related to all our products.  Our training professionals provide a combination of product instruction and best practice recommendations based on over 100 years of collective experience working with in the alternatives assets industry.  In the initial project plan, a training program will be established to suit the needs of your firm.  Instructional services can be delivered to you in person or online using remote meeting capabilities.

Reports Development

Reports are always an area of individual preferences.  The OA contains a powerful data warehousing schema to enhance the ease in which reports can be created.  With IO Reports Online™, you can deploy reports over a web browser for consumption by your entire enterprise.  Using the report builder, users can also create their own reports.

The Old School on report writing goes something along the lines of (1) a vendor creates reports for a client, (2) the vendor says that the report writing tool is easy to use, (3) the client discovers that the reports are in fact extremely difficult to create and require knowledge of SQL to perform the necessary table joins.  This pattern effectively means that even though an 'industry standard' report writer is utilized, reports are virtually impossible for users to create.

The New School, and the approach that AnalytX enthusiastically embraces, is that a reporting solution focus not on the individual incarnation of a report but rather on customizing the data warehouse business object layer to precisely meet customer needs as a warehouse repository.  This liberating paradigm means that the warehouse visualization layer constitutes pre-compiled data that makes it possible to drag and drop columns and dimensions (e.g. time, industry, sector, geography) into a user created report.  In essence, reports are a by-product of this logical layer abstraction and can be modified, or new ones can be created, using the rich published data warehouse.

Custom Software Development

The extensible nature of our products makes it possible for us to embrace integration of client requested pages while maintaining a common code base.  We can build specialized capabilities including customized screens, business logic calculations, and integration processing.  We carefully apply a structured development methodology utilizing structured systems analysis and rapid application design prototypes.  Our programming team consists of highly trained C++, C#, SQL Server, and Oracle DBMS programmers.

System Integration Services

To further assist our clients, we recommend servers, install and configure server applications, and provide connectivity solutions for remote access.  We provide data integration services including online stock feeds, dynamic currency rates, and indexes (COFI, LIBOR, etc.).  We can also write data interchanges between accounting systems, other CRMs, or other sub-systems that your firm may be using currently.
